Decorate Your Walls
If you have a blank wall in the house that desperately needs decorating, dress it up with objects that you love. You can put pictures together any way you like: make a circle out of small pictures, put three bold pieces in the middle of the wall or just space them out as you see fit.
One of the things you can do to decorate your wall is put patterns on it. If you have beautiful fabrics or scarves, just frame them. It can make a great collage in colors and patterns that will match your decor.
Framing your jewelry and fashion accessories is another way to easily decorate a part of your room. Pick decorative frames and attach necklaces, bracelets, earrings and hair accessories. Make sure you can remove the pieces when you want to use them.
Hanging decorative plates on your walls is a more traditional method of decorating. It can look very sophisticated with a nice use of symmetry. For a more modern look, paint the plates yourself or purchase plates with geometric patterns.
For a very modern, bold look get one big picture that will cover most of the wall. Designers' favorites are nature prints, like a few big leaves or flowers. It can also be one large object, like a clock shown in full detail.
To start decorating your wall, pick what you want to hang. Specialty hangers are easy to use when hanging even heavy objects, like mirrors or plates.
If you have all of your pictures ready to be hung, but not sure of the layout, experiment first. Cut out the shapes of the pictures out of paper and position them on the wall in a few layouts. Pick the one you like and easily hang the actual pictures.
Hanging pictures in a surprising, original way can add interest to the wall. For example, hang a group of thin frames in a long hallway. Or arrange square frames in the circle above the couch in the living room.
