Shiny Christmas Tree Card If you like cards that are super shiny and embellished then this one is the one. To make it you will need: green construction paper, sheer silver or gold wide ribbon, shiny red wrapping paper, thin green ribbon, gold or silver glitter glue pen, and adhesive rhinestones and sequins for decorating. Decorating Tools: scissors, pencil, glue stick.
1. Get 9" by 8.5" piece of green construction paper and fold it in half. Now you have a 4.5" by 8.5" card. Make the two edges face to your right. Take a sheer patterned ribbon with gold or silver 2" wide. Cut three pieces 8.5" in length. Center one piece on top of the card and glue it in place. You can use glue stick, but fabric glue is better for the ribbons. Glue two more ribbons next to the middle one. The ribbons must cover the whole card. Cut off the hanging edges. 2. Take shiny red wrapping paper. With a pencil draw a simple Christmas tree 6" long and 3.5" wide. Cut the tree shape out. Center the tree on top of the card and glue it down. From the same paper cut out two rectangles 4.5" by .5". Glue each rectangle to the top and bottom of the card. 3. Take a green ribbon .5" wide. Cut three strips: 3", 2.5" and 1.5". Arrange the ribbons on top of the tree diagonally. Glue the ribbons down and trim off hanging end pieces. Make a small bow 1" wide from the same ribbon. Tie the middle of the bow with any thread so it does not unravel. Glue the bow to the very top of the tree. 4. Take a gold or silver glitter glue pen and draw lines along the edges of green ribbons. Arrange a few adhesive rhinestones and sequins on top of the tree between ribbons and put one on top in the middle of green bow. Make small glitter dots on top of the tree between ribbons, rhinestones and sequins. Let the glitter dry. To make this card in an easier way, use wrapping paper instead of wide ribbon. You can decorate the tree any way you like. Just use glitter on the whole thing instead of sequins and rhinestones. |
