Christmas Candy Ornament
Decorate your tree with these fun Christmas candy ornaments. To make it you will need: white and red felt fabric, cotton stuffing and white yarn.
Decorating Tools: pencil, drawing compass, scissors, fabric glue, sewing needle.
1. Take a piece of white felt fabric and draw two circles 3" in diameter using drawing compass. Draw another 3" circle on red felt and make a triangle shape from the center of the circle to its edge. The base of the triangle is .75". Make five triangles all together. To print out a template instead of using a drawing compass click here. You can just put the templates against the fabric and cut along the lines. Cut the two circles and five triangles out.
2. Take one white fabric circle and lay out the five red triangles on it. Space them out evenly. Glue each red triangle to the white circle using fabric glue. Let the glue dry.
3. Using white yarn and a thick needle, sew two white felt circles together a little more than halfway. Stuff the inside of the ornament with cotton. The best thing to use is facial cotton wipes. They are the perfect size for this ornament. Put three or four cotton circles into the ornament. Finish sewing around the edges of two felt circles.
4. When you are done sewing around the circles, take the yarn out of the needle. Leave a 6" yarn end and cut the rest off. Make a loop and tie a knot very close to the edge of the circles. Now you have a hook to hang the ornament.
