Sparkling Poinsettia Ornament
Make your Christmas tree shine with this sparkly poinsettia ornament. To make it you will need: red and green felt fabric, thin green ribbon, gold sequins, and glitter glue pen.
Decorating Tools: scissors, fabric glue.
1. Print out the template and cut each piece out. Get red and green felt fabric. Put the cut out template pieces against the fabric and cut around the shapes. In the end you should have 6 big red petals, 6 small red petals, 1 big green leaf, 2 small green leaves, and one red circle.
2. Take the red circle and glue 6 big red petals on top of it. Use fabric glue for this and put the glue just on the ends of the petals. Make each end of the petal be in the middle of the circle. All petals should overlap. Take all 3 green leaves and arrange them between the petals under the flower. When you like your arrangement, put glue on parts of the leaves covered by the flower and glue them in place. Finally, take 6 small red petals and glue them in between large red petals. The small red petals should overlap and be on top of the flower (see picture). Let the glue dry.
3. Turn the flower over. Get a thin green ribbon less than .25" wide. Cut a piece 10" long and fold it in half. Glue two ends of the ribbon to the back circle using fabric glue. Let the glue dry.
4. Turn the flower right side up again. Get 7 gold sequins .25" or .5" in diameter. Using craft glue, glue one sequin in the center of the flower. Arrange the other 6 sequins around the middle one and glue them down. Take gold, red and green glitter glue pens. With a gold glitter glue pen outline the small center petals and put a dot in the center sequin. With a red glitter glue pen outline the large petals and put dots in the centers of 6 sequins. With green glitter glue pen make 3 branch lines on each leaf (see picture). Let the glitter dry before hanging the ornament.
