Layered Snowflake Ornament
This pretty snowflake can be used to decorate the Christmas tree or stockings. To make it you will need: red and white felt fabric, red and green thick yarn, red and silver rhinestones, and red glitter glue pen.
Decorating Tools: scissors, fabric glue, sewing needle.
1. Print out both snowflake templates and cut them out. Put the small template on top of white felt fabric and cut the snowflake out. Put the big template on top of red felt fabric and cut the shape out. Center the snowflakes on top of each other, white one being on top. Glue them together using fabric glue. Let the glue dry. If you don't want to use the template, draw a 4.25" by 4.25" snowflake on white felt, cut it out, place the white snowflake on top of red felt fabric, sketch around it leaving .25" wide edge, and cut the red snowflake out.
2. Take thick green yarn and thick sewing needle, and embroider the snowflake. Start with the center. Make one long line going towards the top, then add two side branches. Make six green yarn lines with branches go towards six peaks of the snowflake.
3. Flip the snowflake over. Thread a thick needle with thick red yarn. Pull the yarn through .25" of fabric on top of one of the snowflake's peaks. Take the needle out of the yarn and make a knot to tie both yarn ends together. This made a hook to hang the ornament.
4. Flip the snowflake right side up again. Take a red sequin and glue it to the center of the snowflake on top of green yarn. Use craft glue for this. Glue six silver sequins around the red one. Glue another six silver sequins on top of the green yarn points. Get a red glitter glue pen and put a few dots along the green yarn embroidery (see picture). Let the glue dry.
