Hanging Buttons Ornament
This hanging buttons ornament takes about five minutes to make. It's simple and very cute. To make it you will need: red and green buttons, a thin string, gold glitter glue pen, and thin gold ribbon.
Decorating Tools: scissors.
1. Get 10 big green buttons, 10 small green buttons and 20 red buttons. You can also take any color buttons and repaint them using acrylic paint.
2. Take a 12" string of any color, like white, green or red. Start putting the buttons through the string one by one. I did this in the following order: large green button, red button, small green button, red button, large green button. Keep putting the buttons through the string until all are used.
3. When all the buttons are put through the string, tie both ends of the string together. Cut off the hanging edges. You should have a circle made out of buttons. Get a thin gold ribbon .25" wide. Cut a piece 9" long. Fold gold ribbon in half and tie it to the buttoned circle. Make a small knot at the ribbon's ends to make a hook to hang the ornament.
4. Using gold glitter glue pen, put gold lines on some of the button's edges. I did this for every sixth button. Now you have added some shine to the ornament.
